About Us

The Silversmiths and Silver Polishers of Thomas Lyte Silver have years of experience having worked in the London silver business all of their lives.

Our principle Silversmiths, Kevin Williams and Mick Wellsman both started as apprentices aged 17 and since that time have worked in some of London’s major silver workshops including David Shaw Silverware, Grant MacDonald, and Asprey. In that time they have created some major works in the world of sporting trophies, bespoke objet for Middle East palaces, special commissions for industrialists like Sir Richard Branson, and carried out repair and restoration work on silver created by the world’s best Silversmiths such as Paul Storr.

Our Polishers and Platers also have years of experience. Tony Cimmering started his apprenticeship at 15 as a Silversmith and moved into Polishing some years later. Keith James has spent all of his life polishing silver at David Shaw Silverware and more recently at Asprey in Bond Street.
