Thomas Lyte has worked on the maintainence and restoration of many iconic sporting trophies, including the previous FA Cup before they made the new one in 2014. After the Heineken European Cup was damaged in 2012, Thomas Lyte undertook a complete restoration of the 1980 trophy and have continued to repair the cup throughout the years.
This magnificent trophy is crafted from solid silver, combined with gold to convey a map of Europe and its constituent playing countries on the front of the cup. The importance of the 71cm tall trophy is further embedded in the lid of the cup as it is decorated with a circular ring of European stars.
Along with their work restoring the rugby trophy, Thomas Lyte were commissioned to craft a replica of the Heineken European Cup for the ERC, European Rugby Commitee.
